Yes, I agree that coffee in the morning is key but it really doesn't help you increase your productivity. I feel that powerful applications do the world of good when I need to kick my productivity up a notch. Here are my six of my favorite apps to super-charge my day.
Trello is truly my favorite application! To me, it's a To-Do List on steroids because it's so visual and allows me to communicate with my clients, store all the information I need to get their projects done and track the progress of each task to completion. According to the makers, “Trello is the easy, free, flexible, and visual way to manage your projects and organize anything, trusted by millions.” It’s a great place to hold important information and to communicate with team and/or family members on project status. I use Trello every day and love it!
Everlance is an “automatic expense and mileage tracker.” Just download the free app or upgrade to the premium application and it will track your mileage and the expense for each trip. It’s great for small business owners to track miles and know the expense to write off at tax time. It provides a monthly report as well.
“Canva is a free graphic-design tool website, founded in 2012. It uses a drag-and-drop format and provides access to over a million photographs, graphics, and fonts. It is used by non-designers as well as professionals.” You can create flyers, post cards, Social Media posts and more…
“Best time tracking system for a small business. A simple online timer with a powerful timesheet calculator. Syncs with iOS & Android app.” This application is great if you have to track your time for billing purposes and it’s free! You can add clients and project names and will receive a weekly report of the time you spent on each project.
Slack is also a great tool that coordinates communications with your team members. According to the creates of Slack, “Make work better with Slack. Real time messaging, search, archiving & more. Sync Across All Devices. Free To Try. DLP & eDiscovery Support. FINRA & HIPAA Compliant. Services: Instant Messaging, File Sharing, 1000+ App Integrations, Searchable Archive, Screen Sharing, Voice Calls, Shared Channels.”
Notability is another application that I use daily and simply can't live without! It allows me to use my Apple Pencil to take notes during client meetings, keep track of important information and forms that I use in my business. Per Notability, it's an “iPad app creates notes that integrate handwriting, typing, drawings, audio, and pictures. Use Notability for iPad to create lecture notes and other classroom materials. Notability for iPad can also be used to annotate PDF documents, such as student assignments and PDF forms.”
You don't have to buy stock in your favorite coffee company in order to be productive. Simply find an application that meets your productivity needs and enjoy checking items off of your To-Do List!
